1. Why daily checks matter
A missed tire, light, or brake problem can strand freight, hurt someone, or end a delivery. Ten minutes of inspection before you roll prevents most of it. No inspection, no departure.
2. Pre-trip walk-around
- Tires: pressure, tread, visible damage.
- Lights, signals, mirrors, wipers.
- Body damage, fluid leaks under the vehicle.
- Doors, cargo doors, and locks working.
3. Under the hood basics
Check fluids and belts at the level a driver can: oil, coolant, washer fluid. Anything low, leaking, or sounding wrong gets reported to dispatch before departure. Drivers report problems; they don't improvise repairs.
4. Cargo area
- Clean, dry, and free of loose items.
- No personal items mixed with freight.
- Straps, dividers, or restraints in place and working.
5. Loading
- Secure every package so nothing shifts in transit.
- Balance the load; keep heavy items low.
- Never block doors or emergency exits with freight.
- Temperature-sensitive items placed as labeled.
6. On the road
- Drive for conditions, not just the speed limit.
- Never handle dispatch messages while moving: pull over safely first.
- Keep freight secured and the vehicle locked at every stop.
7. If something breaks down
- Hazards on, safe stop, stay visible.
- Call dispatch immediately with location and status.
- Stay with the freight. Do not abandon a load.
- Follow dispatch's instructions for recovery or transfer.
8. Report before you roll
Any issue found in inspection gets reported to dispatch before departure, not after the run. A vehicle with a safety issue does not go out until dispatch clears it.
9. EV charging — for EV units when assigned
GoBee's fleet is moving toward electric vehicles. When you are assigned an EV unit: charge off-peak at assigned GoBee stations or partner lots, monitor battery state, and report any charging fault to dispatch. Never use an unapproved charger for a GoBee vehicle.
10. End of day
- Report any new issue, however small.
- Leave the vehicle clean, secured, and fueled or charged for the next run.
- Note mileage and any incident in your run record.
