Chain of Custody & Delivery

Slide 1 of 10

1. Why custody matters

Every package you carry is someone's diagnosis, treatment, or care plan. Chain of custody is the unbroken record of who had the package, when, and where. If the chain breaks, the delivery can't be trusted, and neither can GoBee.

2. Before you leave

3. Keep labels covered

Manifests and labels can carry patient names, facilities, and specimen details. Keep them covered from public view at all times: in the van, at the counter, and on the street. No photos of labels on personal phones.

4. At pickup

5. In transit

6. At delivery: verify the recipient

Deliver to the right person, not just the right building. Confirm the recipient's name and role against the manifest. If the person can't be verified, do not hand it over. Call dispatch.

7. Confirmed delivery, every time

Every delivery closes with proof: a signature, a photo, or both, as the job requires. No proof, no closed delivery. Record it before you leave the stop.

8. When something is wrong

Refused delivery, wrong address, damaged package, recipient unavailable: stop and call dispatch first. Do not improvise, do not leave the package somewhere convenient, and do not guess. Dispatch resolves ambiguity; you report it.

9. Wrong specimen or mix-up

If labels don't match, counts are off, or anything feels wrong about a package, secure it and call dispatch immediately. Never deliver a package you are unsure about. A delayed delivery can be fixed; a wrong delivery may not be.

10. Records are the job
