1. Purpose
Chain of custody is the documented trail of every package from pickup to confirmed delivery. It protects patients, clients, and GoBee: if a delivery is ever questioned, the record answers it.
2. Before departure
- Match the manifest to the packages in hand, item by item.
- Count packages twice. Report any mismatch to dispatch before leaving.
- Confirm labels match the manifest. Never depart with an unaccounted package.
3. Pickup
- Verify the sender against the manifest.
- Count packages with the sender when possible and note condition.
- Record the pickup in GoBee's system before departing.
4. Transport
- Packages stay closed, upright, and secured for the whole run.
- Never leave freight unsecured in an unattended vehicle.
- Keep temperature-sensitive items as labeled; report any temperature concern to dispatch immediately.
- No personal stops with freight aboard.
5. Delivery and recipient verification
Deliver to the verified person, not just the address. Confirm name and role against the manifest. If the recipient cannot be verified, do not hand the package over: call dispatch and follow instructions.
6. Confirmed delivery
Close every delivery with proof: signature, photo, or both, as the job requires. Record the proof before leaving the stop. A delivery without proof is not a closed delivery.
7. Problems: refused, damaged, or wrong
- Refused delivery: do not leave the package. Call dispatch.
- Damaged or leaking package: do not open it. Secure it and call dispatch.
- Wrong address or wrong recipient: stop, secure the package, call dispatch.
- Label or count mismatch: secure the package and call dispatch immediately. Never deliver a package you are unsure about.
8. Confidentiality
Manifests, labels, and delivery details are confidential. Keep them covered from public view, never photograph them on a personal phone, and never discuss a delivery's contents with anyone outside the job. Work records go in GoBee's system only, never personal messaging apps.
9. Dispatch-first rule
When anything is ambiguous, dispatch resolves it. Your job is to report promptly and accurately, then follow dispatch's instructions. Do not improvise a solution on a medical delivery.
